What is 'The Forge'?

The Forge is a combat record for your hobby progress. It tracks your painting growth, rewards your consistency, and lets you compete for the top spot on your local city and global leaderboards.

How does the scoring work?

Every project upload earns base points based on quality (Battle Ready or Parade Ready) and subject (character, single, small unit, large unit, vehicle). On top of base points you earn 2 points per technique tagged on the upload. Mastering a technique on that upload doubles its contribution.

Question 3

What is 'Mastery' and the 3-Unit Rule?

Mastery represents your skill with a specific technique. You must tag a technique in 3 separate project uploads to master it. The upload that tips a technique into mastery awards an extra +2 for that technique — effectively doubling its point value on that upload as a reward for crossing the threshold.

How do I earn Medals?

Accepted Answer

Medals are awarded for milestones across your entire career — for example, 'First Blood' for your first technique used, or 'Killtacular' for mastering multiple techniques. Visit the /badges page to see the full requirements.

What is the 'Community Reactor'?

Accepted Answer

The /community page is where you can see what others are working on. Reacting to an image with emojis instantly swaps it for a new one. The default Underdog feed shows the minis with the fewest reactions first, so newer painters get seen.

What is 'Versus'?

Accepted Answer

Toggle Versus on the community page and two miniatures appear side by side. Click the one with the better paint job to vote. You can't vote on your own work or the same pair twice in a month. At the end of every calendar month the most-voted image is crowned Reigning Champion and featured until the next month's winner is decided.

How do I become an Admin?

Admin roles are currently restricted to the Forge founders. Admins approve new techniques and moderate the community feed.

How is this moderated?

Accepted Answer

The app is a trust-based platform. We do not police uploads. However, if an account zooms to the top because of fake uploads or consistent lying, we will ban the account and its IP address.
